Apple cider vinegar has many functions but it is not suitable for cleaning laminate floors. Use a slightly damp mop. Distilled white vinegar has a clear color while apple cider vinegar has dark brown color since it is apple based. If you have a hardwood or laminated wood floor use white vinegar and stay away from your mop as it could contain residue from other cleaners that would not allow the vinegar to have its full effect.

Dip a sponge mop into the solution squeezing out excess. The trick is not to overdo it with the excessive moisture. This is how you mop floors with white vinegar. Don t use it on unpolished wooden floors either.

The vinegar which you need is the distilled white vinegar which is works effectively to clean without damaging the flooring. To make a vinegar cleaner for laminate floors add 1 2 white vinegar to a gallon of warm water in a bucket. Do not overwet the floor water is laminate floors enemy as it can cause water spots or even warping. Mix 1 cup household vinegar with 1 gallon warm water.

For best results use a flat mop and make sure the mop is damp. Make sure that you properly vacuum your floor before you start mopping. So if you normally mop with the old fashioned string mop and bucket throw those out or at least avoid using them on your laminate flooring.
