White Wine On Carpet Stinks

This household acid is cheap and effective at cutting though wine related odors within carpeting.

Sponge the area of the carpet that still smells like wine. Use plain water or mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and one tablespoon of white vinegar with two cups of warm. Allow the club soda or white wine to sit a moment gently blot with a cloth and repeat with carpet cleaner. Next blot the area dry with a clean dry cloth or paper towel.

Blot up as much of the spilled wine as possible. This is a surprisingly effective way to clean or reduce stubborn but fresh red wine stains. Be careful not to overdo it or you will strip color from the carpet. The next step is to flood the stained area with water by dipping a clean sponge or cloth in plain water.

Blot the area with a dry white cloth until no more moisture is. Of dish detergent and 1 tbsp. When a white wine spill happens blot immediately with a clean white cloth or paper towel. This will dilute the sugars in the wine that can attract more soil.

Mix one part white vinegar with eight parts hot water and pour a heavy amount of this solution over the affected area within the carpeting. The vinegar in the solution will act as a deodorizer to help remove the smell.
