Remember that the sticky residue can act as a glue which readily combines with dirt and dust to generate stickiness so do the rinsing process carefully.
Why does old vinyl get sticky.

If the vinegar does not remove the sticky residue dab a little lubricating oil such as wd 40 onto.
It will make the surface more sticky.
I ve seen this happen before to client s things especially old toys dolls and game console controllers.
But neither ethanol or isopropyl alcohol is very good at getting the sticky residue off of components.
But if your pleather is old the plastic coating over the faux leather vinyl may be wearing thin exposing a sticky impossible to clean residue that s no fun to lounge around on or wear.
I cleaned it with 409 spray cleaner and it worked but about two weeks later the residue returned.

Rubber is very seldom used to coat surfaces.
Wipe down the whole item with the damp part of the cloth using back and forth or circular motions re wetting it as you go if needed.
If the materials are not too badly damaged speed clean may remove the sticky surface.
